Meet the Head Coach: Arif Kassam

Martial arts is about more than physical technique—it is about de-escalation, discipline, and emotional control. Having actively trained since 1999, Founder and Head Coach Arif Kassam brings over 25 years of martial arts experience to the academy.

Holding a Karate Black Belt and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Purple Belt, alongside extensive cross-training in Muay Thai, Submission Wrestling, and Freestyle Wrestling, Arif merges this comprehensive combat pedigree with nearly two decades of frontline public service. During his completed 18-year career as a Dedicated Ward Officer, he specialised in community engagement, youth mentoring, and conflict resolution.

This background fundamentally shapes the Al Qawi curriculum. We teach our students how to avoid a fight whenever possible, and how to decisively protect themselves when it isn't.
